The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
A stunning flapped paperback edition of the classic tale of Mary Lennox and her journey from loneliness to belonging.
Misselthwaite Manor has a secret. Hidden in its gloomy grounds, concealed by thorns and ivy, is a magical garden. It has been locked for ten years and will remain so until the arrival of Mary Lennox.
Spoilt, selfish and disagreeable, the young orphan is determined to like nothing and nobody.
But try as she might, Mary cannot resist the mystery of the secret garden. So, when a friendly robin leads her to the missing key, the door is opened at long last.
With the help of Dickon, a village boy who can tame the wildest of animals, and her sickly cousin, Colin, Mary starts to heal not only the land but also her lonely heart. And as flowers begin to bloom again, the magic of the secret garden unfurls...
