We stock and promote books on sustainability, conservation, and nature, helping to spread awareness and inspire action.
Plastic-free packaging
We’ve eliminated plastic packaging from our operations, opting for eco-friendly alternatives.
Supporting local
We purchase from small, local companies, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting the community.
Green energy
Our shop is powered by renewable energy, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.
Eco-friendly shop
Our shop fittings are mainly upcycled and recycled, and we use eco-friendly cleaning products to keep our space sparkling.
Small Business Britain CPD
Completed the Small Business Britain CPD in sustainability to create a detailed and effective plan of action.
Climate change libraries
We launched three Climate Change Libraries in April. They are a joint effort with local community groups and consist of a selection of 40-50 books on the environment for all age groups based in easily accessed community buildings. Everyone is encouraged to take a book away to read, then return it having pledged one change they will make to help save the planet.
We have just received a grant from Penguin to fund two more Libraries as part of their ‘Nothing Like a Book’ initiative to celebrate their 90th Anniversary
The Willow Review
We were asked by Small Business Britain to share our sustainability successes with other small businesses UK-wide through the Willow Review - an independent Government-backed review aiming to underline the financial benefits of sustainability for small businesses across the UK. Led by industry leaders, government representatives and sustainability experts, the review aims to provide clear evidence that sustainability practices can drive profitability, innovation, and long-term growth for businesses.
