An evening with Steph Shields - After Amba. 7PM 15OCT25 Wave of Nostalgia or Zoom

The life of Amba Atha, travel and fashion writer, spans the first half of the twentieth century. As ‘a New Woman’ she flouts mores, climbs barriers and pushes boundaries. Then she dies in a mid-air collision.
Seventy years later, her brother Andrew hires a young research librarian, Frasey Fisher, to bring order to Amba’s archive. Frasey becomes captivated, possibly possessed, by her subject. Frasey is drawn into a love triangle that transcends class, time and death. 
After Amba is a tale about women, about love and sexuality, and the power of the past over the present.

Steph, author of our runaway best-selling book Strange Woman will be reading from and chatting about her new novel After Amba as well as answering questions and signing copies.

The event starts at 7PM on Weds 15th November and will be held in person at the shop and online via Zoom.

Attendees in person will receive a free drink - wine, tea or coffee and ALL attendees will be eligible for 10% off all books in the shop or online.
