Reading and walking ...perhaps...

Blogging, yes love talking but blogging? It means you have to sit down and write something! You know I can’t sit down for more than two minutes at a time and in two minutes friends are arriving so we can all go for a long doggie walk together. Before I shoot out the door I want to share with you the books I’ve read over the last few weeks:

A Girl is a Half Formed Thing by Eimear McBride and How to be Both by Ali Smith, both these titles are winners of the Women’s Prize for Fiction. The first we discussed at last months book club and the second will be for our conversation next month. They were interesting reads, not my usual choice but that is why I love the Women’s Prize.

Now I am reading a couple from the Booker Prize Long List. I’ve just finished Love Forms by Claire Adam, about a mother searching for her daughter she left behind a lifetime ago, how you never can let that bond go, its heart achingly beautiful, I loved it. Right now I’m reading (well not right now or I might fall over Willow or land in the river!) Seascraper by Benjamin Wood, immediately I am drawn by the beauty of the words, the nostalgia for a time long gone and by Thomas’s struggles to make it through life…ah well I will be back to read more later this evening.

Till then have a great day and catch up soon, love Diane and book shop dog Willow.
